Please find attached my idea on how to engage children with this years World Cup. Massive events like this should be a huge catalyst to help inspire our kids to move more and love sports!
Tweak it however suits your School but the basic premise that every class will draw names and every child gets assigned a country – on a day decided by yourselves they will dress in that countries colours and partake in a team penalty shoot out (details explained in the attached document).
During the first week of the world cup we’ll also run a extra-curricular challenge which is a simple tick box format – children who complete all challenges will get a certificate (also attached). I’d suggest doing an assembly to launch it and probably sending a letter home too?
